Traceability Software
How does Foods Connected's traceability software work?
Our food traceability software is a centralised cryptographic ledger that integrates with customers’ existing systems for the efficient capture and visualisation of end-to-end traceability information. It allows the supply chain including retailers, manufacturers and food service providers to track the end-to-end journey of products, sharing information either in real-time or at a cadence and permission level defined by the supply chain.
Information is recorded at the relevant steps of the supply chain and added to the ledger as a ‘block’, forming a chain of records that cannot be easily tampered with. Cryptographic protection also encodes the data so information can only be added by authorised parties. Finally, because our software centralises traceability data from across the supply chain it reduces the number of transactions and is less energy-intensive than its decentralized counterparts. This makes it a much more cost-effective and sustainable solution for the agri-food industry.
Any existing systems within your organisation connect via an Integration Agent; an on premise service that connects your integrations to our cloud servers. The Integration Agent vastly simplifies integrations for organisations by providing a fire-and-forget API.

How digitally advanced does my organisation need to be to implement a traceability solution?
We have a range of solutions depending on what stage you are at on your digital journey. For those at the start, we have a range of quality management and supply chain tools including Traceability Manager. Alongside other tools, it can be used to simplify the process of requesting information from suppliers or digitising critical paperwork on the shop floor. For those that are more digitally mature and want to avail of interoperable traceability where all systems are integrated, we have a solution called Trace Connected. With this, you can expedite traceability exercises, providing necessary supply chain data visibility to validate claims and substantiate reporting across a range of metrics.
How easy is it to implement Foods Connected’s traceability software?
When liaising with new and prospective customers, the first port of call is to understand their current state within the supply chain as each business is different. Our team will work with you to identify your needs as well as the current and future state of your traceability processes, and use these to suggest a digitisation, integration and implementation plan.
Can Foods Connected’s traceability solution be used to capture any type of data?
Yes, the only requirement is that data needs to be digital. Our traceability software is data-agnostic, therefore it can be used to collate any digital data into Critical Tracking Events. For example, you might want to use it to capture quality or sustainability data such as energy consumption or water usage. Furthermore, not only can our solution work with any internal organisational or external global data standards such as GS1, EPCIS and GDST, it can also perform certain data transformation tasks in the event that source data does not follow a standardised approach.
